Bye February, see you next year!

Mimosa in full bloom must be the best thing about the month of February in the South of France.

The best thing about March is that the spring is right around the corner.
Out with the old, in with the new!
I hope everybody is busy making exciting plans for the most beautiful season of the year!

WELCOME MARCH!! February, I'm sorry, but I'm really glad you're over and done with.

Presentation of Suderbyn's future

During the last couple of weeks I've been in charge of the creation and organization of an exhibition about the future plans for Suderbyn, Gotland's first and currently only eco-village.
It was a fun but challenging month.
(and I can't say I'm sorry it's over :p)

One of the sketches presented during Monday's meeting, from Projektengagemang kring Arkitektur

Now that the 3 architect firms that were consulted for the sketching of possible future building solutions have presented their design ideas (and inspired many!) it is soon time to take down our exhibition and go on to the next phase.

Whether or not i'll be involved in that phase I'm not sure.
What is sure is that the whole thing has got me thinking even more about our lifestyle here in the west, and how living in an eco-village with focus on self-sufficiency and communal life is not as crazy as it may sound.

Nature vs. Industry

You don't need to understand Swedish to understand this.
The debate about Ojnare forest is still ongoing, but many fear the supreme court's decision will be a disastrous one ...
The next question will be how far we can go to stop the machines ... and when is it time to accept defeat ...
Or do we owe it to the next generations to keep fighting?
